What Is the Date for the Next Surface Event?
Microsoft’s most recent Surface event was on October 12, 2022, at 10 am ET. We expect the next Surface event to happen in October 2023.
Which Products Will Be Announced?
We don’t yet know when the next Surface event will be, but rumors include a Microsoft Surface Trio device based on a Microsoft patent that shows a three-screen, foldable smartphone. However, patents don’t always turn into products, and even if this one comes to fruition, we don’t expect to see a Surface Trio until at least 2023.
2022 Surface Event Recap
Rumors about this event were nearly spot on, with reveals of a new Surface Laptop, Surface Pro, and Surface Studio.
Surface Laptop 5. This laptop is available with 13.5-inch and 15-inch displays. They support Thunderbolt 4, so you can connect a 4K monitor and benefit from faster file transfer speeds.Surface Pro 9. The latest Surface Pro comes in two versions. One features a 12th-gen Intel Core processor (i5 or i7), and the other is a 5G model with a Microsoft SQ 3 chip from Qualcomm.Surface Studio 2+. We knew another Surface Studio was on the way, but we thought it would be version 3, not 2+. The all-in-one PC now has three USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 ports; the previous version had only one. The Studio 2+ comes with a Surface Pen, Surface Keyboard, and Surface Mouse.
Microsoft also announced graphic design software named Microsoft Design and two accessories: Microsoft Presenter+ and Audio Dock. Presenter+ is a remote for presenting in Microsoft Teams, while the Audio Dock comes with speakers and mics and can charge your devices.

It features a magnetic pen cover, a Glance Bar that allows you to check notifications quickly, and a triple-lens camera with intelligent lens distortion correction. The all-new Surface Laptop Studio is a desktop-level laptop that transforms into a Studio. It comes with Windows 11, Microsoft’s first haptic trackpad, and a 14.4" PixelSense display. With 32 gigabytes of RAM, a super-fast SSD, and the ability to connect to two external 4K displays, it’s powerful enough for developers to use for AI work.
