How to Find a Jungle in Minecraft
Jungles are considered to be a rare occurrence in the game. Like most biomes in Minecraft, Jungles have no set location, but they generally have a higher chance of spawning near Savannas, Mesas, and Desert biomes. Jungles are immediately noticeable due to the large number of tall trees. These trees will almost completely cover the roof of the Jungle with their leaves.
Jungle Trees
Jungle trees can grow up to 30 blocks high and are typically covered in vines that players can climb. The largest Jungle trees have a base composed of four blocks that extends upwards, so you can collect 120 blocks of wood from a single tree. Jungle trees also make ideal bases for a treehouses. When the tree’s Jungle Wood has been refined and turned into Jungle Wood Planks, the wood has a slight pinkish-red color. The Jungle Wood Planks have no special attributes other than their color. Like all Planks, they can be turned into various tools and items, so you can create color variations of items like Doors, Boats, or Stairs.
Jungle Types
Jungles biomes come in different variations:
Regular JungleJungle HillsJungle EdgeBamboo Jungles
While regular Jungle biomes are dangerous, Jungle Hills are even worse. While in a Jungle Hill, it’s best to stay crouched down on the ground until you have a way to support yourself in the air. In the Edge variants of the Jungle biome, the trees are smaller and further apart. Bamboo Jungles a mini-biomes that occur within regular Jungles where the trees are smaller and you’re more likely to encounter pandas.
Jungle Ocelots
Ocelots are only obtainable in the Jungle biome. Although they are difficult to find due to the density of the trees and bushes, Ocelots are definitely worth the search as they will scare away Minecraft Creepers that attempt to sneak up on you. To catch an Ocelot, slowly approach the animal with an uncooked fish. After the mob has noticed you and doesn’t run away, stop and stay where you are. Allow the Ocelot to approach and then feed it to gain its trust.
Jungle Temples
Some Jungle biomes are home to mysterious structures created out of Mossy Cobblestone and Chiseled Stone Bricks. These Jungle Temples are filled with traps, puzzles, and plenty of treasure. Inside you will find items such as Arrows, Bones, Rotten Flesh, Saddles, Enchanted Books, Iron Horse Armor, Iron Ingots, Gold Horse Armor, Gold Ingots, Diamond Horse Armor, Diamonds, and Emeralds.
Jungle Plants
Cocoa plants are exclusive to the Jungle biome and grow on the sides of Jungle Trees. The Cocoa plant has three forms: a small green form, a medium sized yellow-orange form, and a ready-to-harvest dark orange-brown form. Harvested Cocoa can be used in crafting recipes for food, altering the color of items, and more. Cocoa Beans can only be placed on Jungle Wood, so if you plan to bring it out of the Jungle to begin a farm, you should bring a few pieces of Jungle Wood with you.
